About

MISSION:

The Boston Lady Whalers return in 2018 for our fourth spring/summer tournament season. This year, we are placing a primary focus on coaching and taking an individualized approach with each of our players. Female hockey players are much different than boy players, and need to be instructed differently. What sets the Lady Whalers program apart, is that we have a staff with qualified and experienced women hockey players that have reached the highest levels and taken in coaching from the best in the game. Our program does not take the path of "another Dad behind the bench", as we have sat down and strategized a plan to give individual instruction to each player, in an effort to maximize their learning experience while wearing a Lady Whaler uniform.

ABOUT THE DIRECTOR:

Dana Trivigno returns to the Junior Whalers for her fourth season in 2018, and her third at the helm of the program as General Manager.  Dana hails from Setauket, NY, and currently plays for the Boston Pride in the NWHL.  In addition to playing professional hockey, Dana is in her first season as the Head Coach of the Varsity Girls Team at The Rivers School in Weston, MA.

Dana graduated from Boston College in 2016, where she was a cornerpiece of the prestigious hockey program in Chestnut Hill for four seasons.  In her senior campaign, Trivigno captained the Eagles to an undefeated regular season where they ended up as Runner-Ups for the National Championship.  Prior to BC, Trivigno played at national powerhouse Shattuck St. Mary's School in Minnesota, where she also served as a team captain.

In her senior season at BC, Trivigno became just the 12th player in school history to register 100 career points.  She is an annual participant in the Team USA Women's National program, most recently winning a Gold Medal at the Women's World Championship on April 4, 2016 in Kamloops, British Columbia.

Dana has won numerous awards over her years, including Hockey-East Rookie of the Week,  being a two-time member of the U.S. Under-18 National Team, the 2014 U20 Four Nations Cup Team, and most recently the 2016 Beanpot MVP.

Dana is looking forward to continuing her managerial role within the Lady Whalers program in 2017, and is excited to help guide our Lady Whalers through their youth and high school hockey careers and on to more.
