Kingston, MA - The Boston Lady Whalers are excited to share that the 1st Annual Boston Lady Whalers Summer Classic was a huge success this past weekend at The Bog in Kingston, MA, and our 2008 Elite & U19 Showcase teams walked away with championship trophies!

In its inaugrual year, the Boston Lady Whalers Summer Classic featured 24 strong teams at the U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19 levels.  Teams varied from strong local talent, to as far away as Long Island and Nova Scotia!

The Boston Lady Whalers 2008 Elite Team pieced together a perfect 5-0 record, winning their third championship in as many attempts in their first ever spring/summer season!  The 2008 Elites defeated Eleven Hockey 5-0 in the opening game, before finishing the day 2-0 with a 6-2 win over the Wade Warriors from Long Island.  On Saturday, the 2008 Elites earned the #1 Seed in the semi-finals after an 11-1 win over the Leprechauns, setting up a rematch between the two teams in the #1 vs. #4 game, in which they again emerged victorious, this time by a score of 8-0.  On Championship Sunday, Eleven Hockey kept the game close at the beginning, before the 2008 Elites hit their stride, and pulled away to win the Championship Game by a score of 5-0.  The team was presented with their trophy and awards by U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Haley Skarupa, who joined the team in their championship photo.

The Boston Lady Whalers U19 Showcase team hit a hiccup coming out of the gate, dropping the first game on Friday evening to a strong East Coast Militia (White) team by a score of 4-2 in the opening matchup.  On Saturday, the U19's avenged their Day 1 loss by cruising past Team New England and the Leprechauns by scores of 5-0 and 7-2, respectively.  On Sunday, they defeated East Coast Militia (Camo) by a score of 7-2, and set up a rematch versus East Coast Militia (White) in the Championship Game.  Despite having a shortened bench, the Lady Whalers U19 Showcase team skated to a 4-0 victory, and earned the Championship title!

The event as a whole was a huge success, as the competition was strong and the players were able to have a meet and greet with U.S. Olympic Gold Medalist Haley Skarupa.  Haley set up a table with her gold medal where players were able to get autographs, take pictures, and try on the medal!

The 2nd Annual Boston Lady Whalers Summer Classic will take place from July 12-14, 2018!  For more information, please contact General Manager, Dana Trivigno at: or check out the tournament website -
